We offer a full range of services, including design and planning assistance, and we work closely with architects to guide clients through the process of obtaining planning permission. If the extension falls under permitted development, we can advise on how to obtain a Certificate of Lawfulness from the Council. If clients already have an architect they wish to work with, we are happy to collaborate with them. The design and planning stages are crucial, and we work closely with our clients to understand their vision and create a design that meets their needs. We can provide advice on the feasibility and costs of various ideas to help clients make informed decisions.
After the planning or permitted development stage, full working drawings need to be produced and approved by Building Control. H.H.Hilder can produce these drawings and assist with any party wall agreements or build over permits that may be required. We also take care of any necessary permits for moving electricity and gas meters. Once the planning stage is completed and building regulation drawings have been approved, construction can begin. The process typically takes 12 to 20 weeks, depending on the complexity of the project. Throughout the construction process, we use only the highest quality materials, to ensure that our clients' new extension meets the latest building regulations.
Building an extension requires the expertise of most tradespeople in the industry. From the initial groundwork and drainage, to the bricklayers, scaffolders, carpenters, plasterers, electricians, plumbers, roof tilers, internal tilers and finally decorators, each step of the process demands precision and attention to detail. At H.H.Hilder, we understand that building an extension is a significant investment, and we strive to establish a strong working relationship with our clients to ensure that their project runs as smoothly as possible. We take the time to fully understand our clients' requirements and expectations, and we pay particular attention to health and safety, especially when our clients are living in the property during the construction process.
